Mike Cross - Jaguar's Chief Engineer Vehicle Integrity - talks about the Driving Dynamics of the New Jaguar XJ
This time we get a new talking head – Mike Cross, Chief Engineer – Vehicle Integrity – so I’m pretty sure he has a fair degree of knowledge on his subject (actually, as an aside, it’s Mike who will be driving the Jaguar XKR Goodwood Special up the Hillclimb this weekend. And Mike must be important, because he gets a moody-looking pro mug shot to go with this piece!). And his subject is something that will make or break the new Jaguar XJ – Driving Dynamics.
Jools Holland's old Jaguar E-Type up for grabs
A Jaguar E-Type, recently owned by classic car nut Jools Holland, is up for grabs at what seems like a low estimate of £35-45k. Jools Holland may be best known for Later…, his annual Hootenanny, his exploits with Squeeze, his indiscretions on The Tube (with Paula Yates) and his incomparable skills on the piano. But in the real world Jools has a beard, a pipe, leather elbow patches, a penchant for real ale and a passion for classic cars, one of which, a Jaguar E-Type S1 4.2 Lightweight Roadster, is about to go under the hammer at Brightwells.
MINI has revealed the MINI Roadster Concept at Frankfurt
Just like the MINI Coupe. the MINI Roadster gets a chopped – but open in this case – top with a tilted back windscreen, although from the waist down the Roadster is pure MINI. But the Roadster is promising better handling with the roll over bar shifted forward to just beahind the front seats (there are no back seats) which should make the Roadster more rigid.
